Research

An increasing body of research supports the conclusion that elite athletic performance can be substantially enhanced by encouraging athletes to engage in personal interests and activities beyond their chosen sport. In preliminary research conducted by the CDP, data collected from players proved to be consistent with larger studies across other sports globally.

Once a Player has contacted the program he will:
  • Speak with the primary CDP managers. After an initial phone consultation, Players will be asked to participate in a short initial introductory interview and assessment process.
  • The information collected by the CDP manager will be used to create a customized Player Action Plan.
  • The Player Action Plan will be executed using the CDP’s assessment methodology and resources specific to meet the needs of the Player.

Player participation is based on their own schedules, needs and objectives. There are no mandatory time commitments for a Player to participate in the CDP.

Resources

The CDP’s objective is to provide Players with content that can positively impact their lives today and beyond. The CDP provides Players with information, services and resources that are of interest and relevant to professional athletes. We understand that Players need different resources at different points in their careers. The CDP seeks to ensure that content provided to Players is educational, informational and entertaining but reflective of their day to day to reality in competing at the apex of professional sport.
